In moderation, unrefined natural sweeteners, such as raw sugar, honey, maple syrup, and rice syrup are better alternatives to refined/processed sweeteners; these sweeteners do have the same calorie count as refined sugar and corn syrup, which is why I recommend moderation. For low calorie or calorie free alternatives, I recommend naturally sweet sugar substitutes such as agave, stevia, and xylitol (there are others to choose from, but these are easy to find).</description>
